Azalea Campground

In the Grant Grove area, 3-1/2 miles (5.6km) from Kings Canyon Park entrance. Crystal Springs Campground

Open late May to mid-September. In the Grant Grove area 4 miles (6km) from Kings Canyon Park entrance. Elevation 6500 feet (1980m) in open evergreen stands, 1/4 mile (.4km) from the Grant Grove of sequoias. 63 sites, $22/night, flush toilets, pay phone. Sentinel Campground

In the Cedar Grove area, down in the canyon along the Middle Fork of the Kings River. At 4600-foot (1402m) elevation under open stands of evergreen trees. 83 sites, $22/night, flush toilets, pay phone in the village (1/4 mile/.4 km). Within 1/4-mile (.4km): market, restaurant, gift shop,showers, laundry, & horseback riding. Ranger programs July-early September. The road to this area closes in mid-November. Sentinel Campground

Black Rock Reservoir Campground

10 camp units. West end of Black Rock Reservoir on north shore. From the town of Trimmer (northeast of Fresno on the north shore of Pine Flat Reservoir), go east 17 miles on Trimmer Springs Road. Turn left, cross the King's River and go 3.5 miles to Balch Camp. Turn left, cross the N.F. of the King's River and continue through and past Balch Camp 9.5 miles to Black Rock Station (U.S. Forest Service). Turn right at station, go 1.2 miles. Black Rock can also be reached on a steep, unpaved road from the Lake Wishon area. Turn south off McKinley Grove Road 2.2 miles west of Y. Go 12 miles to Ranger Station. Open year round. (F) 4040 ft. Lily Pad Campground

Take Highway 168 to Shaver Lake. Go east on Dinkey Creek Road 12.5 miles. Turn right on McKinley Grove Road, drive east 14.1 miles to Courtright Road, continue east on McKinley Grove Road for 2 miles to Lily Pad Campground on west side of lake. 15 camp units (4 hike-in). Southwest shore of Lake Wishon. Pit Toilets, Piped Water, Elevation 6560 ft. Fee is $24.00 per night. Lily Pad Campground

Marmot Rock Campground

15 walk-in campsites. Take Highway 168 to Shaver Lake. Go east on Dinkey Creek Road 12.5 miles. Turn right on McKinley Grove Road, drive east 14.1 miles to Courtright Road, continue east on McKinley Grove Road for 2 miles to Lily Pad Campground on west side of lake. Trapper Springs Campground

Take Highway 168 to Shaver Lake. Go east on Dinkey Creek Road 12.5 miles. Turn right on McKinley Grove Road, drive east 14.1 miles to Courtright Road, continue east on McKinley Grove Road for 2 miles to Lily Pad Campground on west side of lake. Turn left on Courtright Road and go north 7.5 miles to south shore. From crest of road overlooking Courtright Lake turn left and proceed along west shore 2.3 miles. Shaver Lake Area

Camp Edison

Take the Hwy 41 North exit. Go North on Hwy 41 to Hwy 180 East. Go East on Hwy 180 to Hwy 168 East. Continue on Hwy 168 East to Shaver Lake. Camp Edison is 1 mile past Ken's Market on the right. Elevation: 5,370 feet. 252 sites, complete with electricity and free cable television. You'll find picnic facilities, modern restrooms with heated showers, laundromats, marina, and general store. Open all year. Fees: $40.00 to 80.00 per night. Reservations available: Camp Edison

Dorabelle Campground

20 Tent sites, 33 RV Sites. From Clovis, take Highway 168 north 49 miles to the town of Shaver Lake. Turn right on Dorabelle Road and go 1/2 mile to campground. Elevation 5,400 feet. Dorabelle Campground is located in an environment of mountains, lakes, and forests. Staff resides on site, and firewood is sold on site. There is a boat ramp one mile away. Cedar Bluff Campground

From Fresno, California, take Highway 41 north through Oakhurst. Turn right on Forest Road 222 (toward Bass Lake), keep right for 3.5 miles to the Bass Lake Campground office. Continue southeast on Forest Road 222 for approximately 2 3/4 miles to Cedar Bluff Campground. Elevation: 3,400 feet. 62 sites. Piped Water, Flush Toilets. Open All Year. Fees: $30.00 per night. Spring Cove Campground

Southwest shore of Bass Lake. Located about 20 miles south of Yosemite National Park. From Hwy 41, take Bass Lake turn-off (Road 222). Head southeast about 3.5 miles to the Bass Lake Campground registration office for check-in (keep to right). Campground is southeast another 4 miles. Elevation: 3,400 feet. 54 tent sites, 11 RV sites. Spring Cove Campground is located in a mountainous environment with lakes, streams, and trees. Restrooms are provided, and firewood is available for sale at the site. Pay showers, laundry, gas, telephones, and a marina are available at nearby Millers Landing Resort. Popular activities include water-skiing, fishing, hiking, a local Indian museum in North Fork, and a local history museum in Oakhurst. Yosemite Valley is a short drive away. Staff on site. San Joaquin Area

Mammoth Pool Campground

From Fresno, California, take Highway 41 north, turn northeast on Forest Road 200 and pass through North Fork. Take the Minarets Road east, follow it 37 miles, turn right on Mammoth Pool Road and follow it 4 miles to the Mammoth Pool Campground. Mammoth Pool Reservoir is closed to the public and fishing from May 1 until June 16 due to deer migration. Two-thirds of the spurs are not level. The roads are paved, the spurs are not. Firewood is for sale at the campground, and a campground employee lives on site. Wagners Resort store, with pay phone and gas, is one mile north. Elevation: 3,300 feet. Mono Creek Campground

From Fresno, follow Highway 168, 70 miles north until you get to Huntington Lake. Follow forest road 80 for about ten miles until you reach the campground on the left. Elevation: 7,400 feet. 14 Sites. No water, pit toilets. Fees: $26.00 per night. Reservations available: Mono Creek Campground

Jackass Meadow Campground

From Fresno, Follow highway 168 70 miles north until you get to Huntington Lake. Follow forest road 80 for about nine miles until you reach a fork in the road. Choose the righhand fork and follow it for two miles. The campground is near the lake. Elevation: 7,200 feet. 44 sites. No Water, vault Toilets. Fees: $26.00 per night. Mono Hot Springs Campground

From Fresno, Follow highway 168 70 miles north until you get to Huntington Lake. Follow forest road 80 for about nine miles until you reach the campground on the left. Merced River Area

Indian Flat Campground

From El Portal, Go five miles east on Highway 140 and you will reach the campground. Elevation: 1,500 feet. This campground is located on the northern fringe of Mariposa Ranger District. It is just off highway 140 which is the main artery for Yosemite National Park. Service here is limited and the sites are on a first come, first serve basis. Although there is limited dispersed camping in the surrounding area. Indian Flat has 14 sites total and for facilities, there are vault toilets and potable water. Fees: $30.00 per night. Sunnyside Campground

From Arch Rock Entrance, Travel east into the Park and bear right on to Southside Drive. Follow Southside Drive eastward to a bridge leading to the Valley Visitor Center and park headquarters. Once on Northside Drive follow it westward to Sunnyside Campground. Sunnyside Campground lies at an elevation of 4,000 feet in the northwestern area of Yosemite Valley. The facility is open to tent camping year-round with 35 sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Although reservations are not accepted campers are recommended to come to this site close to 10 a.m., which is check out time. Each campsite at Sunnyside includes a fire pit and picnic table. Campground amenities are as follows: drinking water and flush toilets. There is limited parking at this campground and each site can accommodate one care and up to six individuals. FROM GROVELAND: travel approximately 10 miles east on HWY. 120 to Ferretti Road, turn left; approximately one mile turn right on Lumsden Road off of Ferretti Road.Five miles of steep, narrow, switchback, one lane, dirt & rock road; Pass LUMSDEN CAMPGROUND, SOUTH FORK CAMPGROUND, and turn left after crossing LUMSDEN BRIDGE. Pinecrest Recreation Area has the following facilities : pay showers, marina for docking/renting boats, grocery store, post office, restaurant/bar, sport shop, free boat launch, horse back riding facilities within driving distance. 200 sites. North Fork Stanislaus River

Boards Crossing Campground

Four miles south of the town of Dorrington, off Sourgrass/Board's Crossing Road (Forest Road 5N02). Take Highway 4 to Dorrington. Turn south on the Board's Crossing Road and follow paved road all the way to the river; cross the river, continue uphill and watch for a dirt road on the right, just before the junction with Forest Road 5N14. Follow this dirt road as it switchbacks down to the river. Continue past the private residences until you reach the campground.Primitive campground located approximately 50 yards from the south bank of the North Fork Stanislaus River, in a grove of mature Ponderosa Pine and Black Oak. Campground is just downstream from the small summer recreational community of Board's Crossing. Elevation: 3,800 feet. 5 Sites, Stream Water, Pit Toilets, Fire Rings. Big Meadow Campground

Adjacent to Big Meadow Group Campground, nine miles southwest of Lake Alpine on Highway 4, 20 miles east of Arnold. This scenic campground is located within a mature conifer forest of Red Fir and Lodgepole Pine, with scattered Quaking Aspen. Sites are large, private and shady. Natural granitic rock outcrops are scattered throughout. The Campground is located adjacent to Highway 4; some traffic noise may be apparent in individual sites close to the Highway.
