Wolf Creek Directions

From Markleeville go east on Hwy 89 about 7.4 miles to Wolf Creek Road. Take Wolf Creek Road for 3.5 miles to Wolf Creek Camp where you have first access to Wolf Creek. A dirt road from Wof Creek Camp can take you to the EF Carson or you can continue along Wolf Creek Road another 2 miles to the end of the meadow section. The road becomes a jeep trail for about a mile and transitions into a foot trail.

Notes:

Wolf Creek
Wolf Creek is a fast moving small stream with plenty of runs and riffles in the upper sections. Expect to find brookies in the upper regions and rainbows in the 8-11 inch class. Wolf Creek then flows into a lower meadow which slows and flattens the stream out before entering a short, narrow canyon to reach the East Fork. This meadow section will have Browns in the undercuts about 9-12 inches. The area has experienced both floods and fires within recent years resulting in poor fish habitat. It may take a few years to recover.
