Denny Rickards
Denny's Stillwater Nymph was developed by Denny Rickards of Fort Klamath, Oregon during the 1980's. Denny specializes in fishing lakes throughout the West for trophy trout. The Stillwater Nymph is generally used with a slow hand twist retrieval using a clear intermediate line or 5-7 foot clear sink-tip. It is particularly usefull as a damsel nymph pattern. The long, but thin, marabou tail provides at strong attraction or movement to the fly. Denny also likes to use Crawdad Orange hackle for many of his flies. This coloration is a strong attractant to many trout within a stillwater setting. Due to the color variations between the tail, wingcase, and body, Denny identifies these color variations by a designated number. He sells these flies off his website at: Flyfishingstillwaters
